Dr. Genelle Belmas, Associate Professor School of Journalism – Editing your videos with Camtasia
Camtasia is a powerful tool to up your online teaching game. The app makes it easy to edit and publish your videos, and you can add quizzes, outside links, and more. You can also use it in connection with Powerpoint as a plug-in. It is not free, but you can download a trial version (https://www.techsmith.com/video-editor.html), check with your department for purchasing licenses. This is similar to Rush in video editing.
Dr. Matt Tidwell, Assistant Dean for Graduate and Professional Studies – Voicethread: Another option for quality lecture capture.
Voicethread allows you to not only capture your video comments and slides simultaneously, it has other features including allowing students to submit comments and questions as they’re watching your video. Its simple interface allows you to be up and running with your lecture in 3-4 clicks. All KU personnel have a free account.
A Zoom link will be sent after sign up. The event will also be recorded and available for viewing.
